Job summary

Wavenet, a UK-based technology provider, seeks a Tier 3 Network Engineer for its Network Operations function. You will act as the senior technical authority, handling complex incidents, performing deep-dive troubleshooting across LAN/WAN/SD-WAN and firewall technologies, and mentoring junior engineers to raise overall technical excellence.

You will engage with customers as a trusted advisor, drive incident restoration efforts, and contribute to proactive problem management.

Qualifications

• CCNA (current) – Routing & Switching.
• Strong hands-on experience with multi-vendor network environments.
• Advanced troubleshooting across LAN/WAN, xDSL, Ethernet, VPNs and firewall configurations.
• Solid understanding of SD-WAN, network security and segmentation.

Responsibilities

• Act as the Tier 3 escalation point for complex network incidents, including Major Incident response.
• Perform deep-dive troubleshooting across LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, and firewall technologies.
• Lead service restoration efforts, balancing rapid resolution with root cause analysis.
• Conduct proactive monitoring, trend analysis, and problem management to eliminate recurring faults.
• Act as a trusted technical advisor to customers.
• Participate in and lead technical discussions, reviews, and presentations.
• Mentor junior engineers and support capability development across the team.
• Drive knowledge sharing and promote engineering best practice.
