Job summary

Wavenet in the United Kingdom is seeking a skilled 2nd Line Network Engineer to join our Service Operations team. You’ll provide advanced technical support, diagnose and resolve network incidents, and ensure requests are handled to a high standard.

This hands-on role requires strong troubleshooting across networking and security technologies. This position requires robust Cisco, firewall, and VPN experience, excellent communication, and documentation skills, with collaboration to meet SLA

Qualifications

• Proven technical experience in networking and security support.
• Able to diagnose and administer network infrastructure.
• Experience with VLANs, VPNs, and network security.
• Familiar with Cisco, Juniper, Meraki, Fortinet, and Palo Alto products.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide second-line diagnostics and fixes for customer incidents.
• Work with clients via phone and email; keep them updated at all stages.
• Prioritise and manage tickets to meet SLAs.
• Maintain accurate records in the Help Desk System and document client infrastructure.
• Collaborate with 3rd party suppliers to resolve issues and meet SLA targets.
• Contribute to knowledge sharing and team documentation.
