Job summary

Wavenet in the United Kingdom is seeking an experienced Advanced Network Support & Operations engineer to act as Tier 3 escalation for complex network incidents, performing deep-dive troubleshooting across LAN, WAN, SD-WAN and firewall technologies.

You will lead service restoration, mentor junior engineers, engage with customers as a trusted advisor, and drive proactive monitoring and knowledge sharing to uphold SLA targets.

Qualifications

• CCNA (current) – Routing & Switching
• Hands‑on experience with multi‑vendor networks including Cisco Catalyst/Nexus, Meraki, Fortinet FortiGate, Juniper
• Advanced troubleshooting across LAN/WAN, xDSL, Ethernet, IPSec VPNs and firewalls
• Solid understanding of SD‑WAN architectures and network security principles
• Experience in leading or mentoring engineers and driving best practices

Responsibilities

• Act as the Tier 3 escalation point for complex network incidents, including Major Incident response
• Perform deep-dive troubleshooting across LAN, WAN, SD‑WAN, and firewall technologies
• Lead service restoration efforts and root-cause analysis
• Conduct proactive monitoring, trend analysis, and problem management to prevent recurring faults
• Mentor junior engineers and promote engineering best practices
