Job summary

Greater Anglia in Ipswich is hiring a Revenue Protection Officer on a 12-month fixed-term, part-time contract (22.5 hours across 3 days). The role involves ticket inspection, fare collection, and issuing penalty fares, with shifts between 05:00 and 01:00 including weekends and bank holidays.

You will interact with the public, uphold fare regulations, and work with the police and other agencies when required; training in conflict management and customer service will be provided, with pro rata

Qualifications

• Be over 18 years of age.
• Able to work 22.5 hours per week across 3 days.
• Willing to work shifts between 05:00 and 01:00, including weekends and bank holidays.
• Must arrange own transport for early/late shifts.
• DBS check and Right to Work may apply.

Responsibilities

• Verify ticket validity and enforce fare regulations.
• Collect fares when required to maintain fair practices.
• Issue penalty fares to passengers without valid tickets.
• Interview suspected fare evaders under guidelines.
• Provide excellent customer service and assist with inquiries.
• Collaborate with police and agencies when needed.
• Receive training in conflict management and customer service.
• Work on trains or at stations performing revenue exercises.
