Job summary

Bright Horizons Ely Day Nursery is seeking a Third in Charge to lead a caring educational team in Cambridgeshire. You will ensure high standards of welfare, health and safety, and safeguarding for every child.

You will oversee partnerships with families and professionals, act as Designated Safeguarding Lead when needed, and contribute to occupancy growth through local authority collaboration.

Qualifications

• Full and relevant Level 3 or above Early Years qualification.
• Previous experience in an Early Years setting, ideally in a leadership role.
• Confident decision maker with experience supporting others.
• Strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
• Ability to build trust with colleagues and families.
• Effective communication with children and adults.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, support and inspire a team to deliver exceptional care and education.
• Promote child welfare, health, safety and safeguarding across the setting.
• Maintain strong partnerships with colleagues, parents and other professionals.
• Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead when required at the nursery.
• Promote the nursery to support retention and occupancy growth.
• Engage with Local Authority to understand local provision and share best practice.
