Job summary

Compass Community School Mountfields Park, an independent specialist day school in Loughborough, seeks Teaching Assistants to support pupils aged 7–17 with SEMH/SEND. You will work 1:1 or in small groups, assist with therapy-informed approaches, and help create engaging learning activities.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children with SEMH or SEND is advantageous.
• Experience supporting learning in classroom settings is desirable.
• Ability to engage and communicate with children with diverse needs.

Responsibilities

• Support teaching and learning.
• Work with children 1:1 or in small groups.
• Manage classroom resources.
• Take children on educational trips and visits.
• Have lunch with children who struggle socially.
• Maintain basic English and Maths understanding.
• Ensure safety during heightened behaviours with strong management and communication.
• Create and teach games to develop social skills and learning.
• Create displays to support teaching and learning environments.
• Celebrate pupil achievements.
• Participate in therapeutic training sessions and reflections.
