Job summary

iBC Healthcare in Worksop is seeking a male Support Worker to provide dedicated one-to-one support to an adult with learning disabilities in Worksop. The role operates within a PBS framework to promote routines, independence and community inclusion.

You will support daily living, personal care and medication administration while maintaining dignity and choice. You will work from an individualised plan and collaborate with family and healthcare professionals to ensure consistent, trauma-informed

Qualifications

• Experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities, autism, or behaviours of concern.
• Understanding of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) and trauma-informed practice.

Responsibilities

• Deliver person-centred, therapeutic support tailored to the individual's needs, preferences and goals.
• Promote independence and meaningful choice in all aspects of daily life.
• Support with personal care where required, always maintaining dignity and respect.
• Support medication administration in line with policy.
• Support daily living tasks, cooking, cleaning, budgeting, appointments as opportunities to build skills and confidence.
• Actively encourage community access and social inclusion, tailored to the person's interests.
• Follow the support plan, risk assessment and positive behaviour support plan consistently.
• Recognise early signs of distress and respond using de-escalation techniques, minimising restrictive practice.
• Complete accurate, timely documentation and records.
• Work collaboratively with family members, healthcare professionals, and the wider multidisciplinary team.
