Job summary

IBC Healthcare is seeking a dedicated Male Support Worker to provide one-to-one support for an adult with learning disabilities in Mansfield. Role follows PBS framework to promote routines, independence and well-being in home and community.

The position requires compassion, consistency and the ability to support across days and nights, with induction and PBS training provided. Benefits include funded diplomas and health discounts.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities or autism.
• Understanding of Positive Behaviour Support and trauma-informed practice.
• Strong de-escalation, communication and observational skills.
• Calm, patient, non-reactive approach with good boundaries.
• Experience with personal care when required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver person-centred, therapeutic support tailored to the individual.
• Promote independence and meaningful daily choice.
• Support with personal care while maintaining dignity.
• Support with medication administration per policy.
• Help with daily living tasks to build skills and confidence.
• Encourage community access and social inclusion.
• Follow support plans, risk assessments and PBS plans.
• Recognise distress and use de-escalation techniques.
• Complete accurate documentation and records.
• Collaborate with family and healthcare professionals.
