Job summary

iBC Healthcare in Derbyshire is seeking an experienced Female Support Worker to provide one‑to‑one support for an adult with learning disabilities at home and in the community. You will follow a PBS framework to build routines, confidence and genuine independence.

The role requires compassionate, trauma‑informed care and a patient, consistent approach to both good days and challenging ones. Full‑time hours with day and night shifts are available.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities, autism or behaviours of concern.
• Understanding of PBS and trauma‑informed practice.
• Strong de‑escalation, communication and observational skills.
• Calm, patient, non‑reactive approach under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Deliver person‑centred, therapeutic support tailored to needs and goals.
• Promote independence and meaningful daily choices.
• Support with personal care, maintaining dignity and respect.
• Support medication administration in line with policy.
• Assist daily living tasks and budgeting to build skills.
• Encourage community access and social inclusion.
• Follow support, risk, and PBS plans consistently.
• Recognise distress and respond with de‑escalation.
• Complete accurate documentation and records.
• Work with family, healthcare professionals and MDT.
