Job summary

Special Educational Needs is seeking a dedicated SEN Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist therapeutic education setting supporting children with Autism, SEMH and other barriers to learning.

You will work closely with teachers and therapists to create a safe, engaging environment where every child feels understood and encouraged to succeed.

Qualifications

• Experience or enthusiasm for supporting children with special educational needs.
• Able to remain calm and patient in challenging situations.
• Strong communication skills and team collaboration.
• Interest in understanding behaviour and its causes.
• Commitment to helping children develop academically, socially and emotionally.

Responsibilities

• Support students one-to-one and in small groups.
• Assist with personalised learning programmes.
• Support emotional regulation and wellbeing.
• Foster independence, confidence and social development.
• Collaborate with teachers, therapists and the wider team.
