Job summary

Academics is recruiting a Graduate SEN Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist therapeutic education setting in Surrey. You will work with children and young people with Autism, SEMH and other learning needs, providing practical support both academically and emotionally.

This role offers hands-on experience in a nurturing environment with small class sizes and a collaborative team of teachers, therapists and support staff.

Responsibilities

• Supporting children and young people with Autism, SEMH needs and other additional learning needs
• Providing one-to-one and small group support
• Helping students to access personalised learning programmes
• Supporting emotional regulation, wellbeing and positive behaviour
• Building strong, trusting and professional relationships with students
• Encouraging independence, confidence and social development
• Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists and other members of the wider team
• Supporting students to overcome barriers to learning and achieve their individual goals
