University Hospital Southampton is seeking a dynamic pre-treatment senior radiographer to join their radiotherapy team. The role involves leading treatment delivery, managing patient care, and utilizing advanced radiotherapy techniques in a supportive environment. Ideal candidates will have a degree in Therapeutic Radiography, HCPC registration, and strong leadership skills.
We are looking for a dynamic and forward-thinking radiographer to join our radiotherapy team as a pre-treatment senior radiographer.
You will be an experienced therapeutic radiographer with excellent communication, leadership, and teamworking skills, ready to help run a busy pre-treatment unit in a friendly, modern radiotherapy department.
This role involves managing the daily workload of radiotherapy patients and leading a team of radiographers on one of our new linear accelerators at our main site at the General or at our satellite centre in Basingstoke. Other areas of rotational work include pre-treatment, DXR, and our new Brachytherapy suite.
Additional opportunities include TBI and SABR, providing safe, state-of-the-art patient-centered care. We are also a regional sarcoma centre, a tertiary referral centre for Neuro-oncology (delivering SRS/T), and our main site is the only centre in the country delivering Intraoperative Radiotherapy (IOERT) for pancreatic and GI tumours.
Our centre is the first in the UK to have Exactrac Dynamic on 3 of our 7 Linacs, providing sub-millimetre correction through stereoscopic imaging with 6 degrees of freedom correction. Other linacs and CTs are equipped with Align RT for thermal and surface-guided setup and tracking.

Our department has over 80 radiographers and Advanced Practitioners, delivering high-quality radiotherapy to over 3500 cancer patients annually. Normal working hours are 7.5-hour shifts from 07:00 to 20:00, Monday to Friday, with weekend on-call services for MSCC patients.
