Band 6 Senior Therapeutic Radiographer

This is a fixed-term post for 12 months to cover maternity leave. This role offers a fantastic career development opportunity for both new and experienced Senior Radiographers to join an innovative, friendly NHS Trust that values compassion, aspiration, resourcefulness, and excellence.

The Berkshire Cancer Centre at RBFT provides fully CHKS accredited Radiotherapy treatment facilities across Reading and Bracknell, equipped with two CT scanners, four Elekta Linear Accelerators, a superficial X-ray unit, and a high-dose Brachytherapy unit.

All treatments follow the latest national guidance, including advanced techniques such as SABR, DIBH, VMAT, and Adaptive radiotherapy. Since 2020, the department has been recognized as a ‘Centre of Excellence’ for Surface Guided Radiotherapy in partnership with Vision RT.

The post holder will:

• Assist the Band 7 Radiographers in delivering innovative Radiotherapy services across Reading and Bracknell.
• Ensure services meet professional and technical standards per CHKS and Trust policies.
• Maintain personal competencies and skills.
• Lead a team of Radiographers in the absence of senior staff.
• Provide patient-centered care while meeting efficiency targets.
• Ensure compliance with governance standards.
• Practice within IR(ME)R guidelines.
• Participate in on-call duties and work shifts as needed.
• Supervise and assess students and learners.
• Work flexibly, including weekends and varied hours, to meet service needs.
