Job summary

Bright Futures Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Therapeutic Practitioner for a specialist SEND/SEMH school in the Chelmsford area. You will work with pupils who have experienced trauma and adverse childhood experiences, using a therapeutic approach to help regulation and engagement with education.

You will provide individual and small-group therapeutic support, assist with emotional regulation and wellbeing, and deliver targeted interventions alongside teachers and other professionals to support

Qualifications

  • Experience in SEND/SEMH education or similar settings.
  • Experience delivering therapeutic support and targeted interventions.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils who may display challenging behaviour.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individual and small-group therapeutic support.
  • Support pupils with emotional regulation, behaviour and wellbeing.
  • Build strong, consistent relationships with young people.
  • Support pupils with SEMH and SEND needs, helping learning progress.
  • Deliver targeted interventions and therapeutic activities.
  • Collaborate with teachers, support staff and other professionals.
  • Help pupils develop confidence, resilience and independence.

Job description

Bright Futures Recruitment is working with a specialist SEND/SEMH school in the Chelmsford area that is looking to appoint a Therapeutic Practitioner to join its established team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience supporting children and young people with SEMH, trauma, additional needs and challenging behaviour.

The Role

You will work closely with pupils who may have experienced trauma and adverse childhood experiences and require a therapeutic approach to help them regulate, engage with education and make positive progress.

  • Providing individual and small-group therapeutic support
  • Supporting pupils with emotional regulation, behaviour and wellbeing
  • Building strong and consistent relationships with young people
  • Supporting pupils with SEMH and additional SEND needs
  • Helping pupils overcome barriers to learning
  • Delivering targeted interventions and therapeutic activities
  • Working alongside teachers, support staff and other professionals
  • Supporting pupils to develop confidence, resilience and independence
About You
