Job summary

Education Experts is seeking an experienced Deputy Headteacher for a permanent senior leadership role in an alternative provision in Birmingham, West Midlands. The candidate should be an SEND specialist available from Oct 2026 or Jan 2027, with a strong background in primary or secondary SEND and leadership.

The role is full-time with typical hours 8:30am–4:30pm, working within a small, well-established provision rated Ofsted Good.

Qualifications

• Must hold a UK teaching/leadership qualification.
• Substantial SEND or primary education leadership experience.
• Enhanced DBS and right to work in UK.
• Excellent references.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support the deputy headship in an alternative provision setting.
• Adopt a therauptic leadership style to support SEMH/SEND pupils.
• Collaborate with the Headteacher and senior leaders to drive school improvement.
• Oversee safeguarding, safety, and safeguarding processes within the school.
