Job summary

Charles Hunter Associates are recruiting a Therapeutic Care Worker for a permanent, full-time position in a residential setting in Dartington. The role involves supporting children and young people with learning disabilities to meet their emotional, physical, and developmental needs, within a safe and therapeutic environment.

With full training and a clearly defined progression path, the role offers a starting salary around £31,000 and benefits in a local council setting.

Qualifications

• Experience in residential children's homes, Learning Disability services, schools or SEN settings, youth work, with young people, in custodial or young offenders' services.
• Degree in psychology, sociology or a relevant subject.

Responsibilities

• Support children and young people with learning disabilities to meet their emotional, physical, developmental and individual care needs.
• Help children develop independence, communication and life skills per their support plans.
• Present yourself as a positive role model.
• Demonstrate a positive attitude, empathy, patience and resilience.
• Encourage positive life experiences and help children achieve personal goals.
