The Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Theatre Scrub Practitioner for Day Surgery Theatre on a permanent, part-time basis (15 hours per week). You will provide high-quality scrub support across surgical specialties, prep theatres, manage instruments, and maintain aseptic technique to ensure efficient theatre lists and excellent patient outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Theatre Scrub Practitioner role within Day Surgery Theatre.
  • Aseptic technique and sterile equipment handling.
  • Support list flow and coordination during theatre sessions.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high standard patient care in accordance with Trust policies.
  • Organise day-to-day activities in the designated area as directed.
  • Take charge of theatre sessions as required.
  • Liaise with medical staff and other departments for smooth service.
  • Inform staff of changes to procedures or lists.
  • Supervise learners and junior staff, guiding competency development.
  • Provide clear information to patients and ensure documentation is complete.
  • Check, administer and control drugs in line with policy and legal requirements.

Theatre, Critical Care, Anaesthetics, Pre-op & Pain Day Case Theatre & Recovery Dept Band 5 - Permanent (15 hours) Are you a skilled and motivated Theatre Scrub Practitioner looking to join our dynamic and patient-focused peri-operative team within Theatre, working in Day Surgery Theatre, where you will provide high-quality scrub support across a range of surgical specialities, prepare theatres, manage instruments and equipment, maintain aseptic technique, support smooth theatre list flow, and contribute to excellent patient outcomes within a supportive and forward-thinking department committed to outstanding care?, Some duties include:

  • Deliver a high standard of patient care, ensuring all procedures and treatmentscomply withTrust policies and clinical guidelines.
  • Organise day-to-day activities within the designated area as directed by the Specialty Manager/Team Leader,appropriate tocompetence and skill level.
  • Take charge of theatre sessions asrequired.
  • Liaise effectively with medical staff, senior nursingstaffand other departments to support the smooth running of services.
  • Ensure staff are informed of any changes to procedures, lists or working practices.
  • Supervise and support learners and junior staff, providing guidanceappropriate totheir competency level.
  • Provide clear andtimelyinformation to patients, relatives, ward staff and ensure all required documentation is completed accurately.
  • Check, administer and control drugsin accordance withTrust policy and legal requirements.
