Job summary

The Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Theatre Scrub Practitioner for Day Surgery Theatre on a permanent, part-time basis (15 hours per week). You will provide high-quality scrub support across surgical specialties, prep theatres, manage instruments, and maintain aseptic technique to ensure efficient theatre lists and excellent patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Theatre Scrub Practitioner role within Day Surgery Theatre.
• Aseptic technique and sterile equipment handling.
• Support list flow and coordination during theatre sessions.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high standard patient care in accordance with Trust policies.
• Organise day-to-day activities in the designated area as directed.
• Take charge of theatre sessions as required.
• Liaise with medical staff and other departments for smooth service.
• Inform staff of changes to procedures or lists.
• Supervise learners and junior staff, guiding competency development.
• Provide clear information to patients and ensure documentation is complete.
• Check, administer and control drugs in line with policy and legal requirements.
