Circle Health Group in Stirling is recruiting a Theatre Practitioner to join the Scrub team at Kings Park Hospital. This 30-hour-per-week, permanent position offers a competitive salary up to £40,425 FTE and the opportunity to work within Britain's leading provider of independent healthcare.

You will support the surgical team with instrument preparation, sterile technique and patient care across orthopaedic theatres, contributing to safe, efficient lists.

Qualifications

• Experience or training in a theatre environment specialising in scrub, anaesthetics, or recovery.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and adapt to a dynamic environment.
• Attention to detail and commitment to safe surgical practice.
• Orthopaedic theatre scrub experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the surgical team by preparing instruments, maintaining sterility and equipment safety; support the Anaesthetist with preparation and patient monitoring; provide post-operative care and discharge readiness.
• Adhere to infection control policies and procedures at all times.
• Set up operating theatres according to surgery type and patient needs.
• Check all theatre and anaesthetic equipment prior to use and report faults.
• Work with a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe and efficient lists.
• Contribute to a positive, respectful theatre environment.

We have an opportunity for a Theatre Practitioner to join their team of staff in theTheatre department.

This is a part - time role for 30 hours a week. The role holder will be required tocover a flexible shift pattern.

Duties of this role include:

• Assist the surgical team by preparing instruments, maintaining sterility, anticipating surgeon needs, and ensuring equipment safety; support the Anaesthetist in equipment preparation, patient monitoring, airway management, and positioning; and provide post-operative care, monitoring vital signs, managing pain and nausea, and ensuring patient readiness for discharge.
• Adhere to infection prevention and control policies and procedures at all times.
• Set up operating theatres according to surgery type and specific patient requirements.
• Check all surgical and anaesthetic equipment prior to use and report faults immediately.
• Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to achieve safe and efficient surgical lists
• Support and contribute to a positive, respectful, and efficient theatre environment.

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

• Registered Nurse (NMC) or Operating Department Practitioner (HCPC).
• Experience or training in a theatre environment specialising in scrub, anaesthetics, or recovery.
• Understanding of infection control, manual handling, and patient safety principles.
• Ability to work under pressure, problem-solve, and respond quickly to changes in a dynamic environment.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Attention to detail, accuracy, and commitment to safe surgical practice.
• Must have major orthopaedic scrub experience.
