Job summary

Spire Cheshire Hospital in Warrington is seeking an experienced Capacity Manager to join our Capacity and Utilisation team on a part-time, permanent basis. You will maximise the use of theatre, endoscopy and outpatient capacity by working with consultants, clinical teams and senior management to allocate sessions efficiently and improve patient throughput.

This 15 hours per week role has a fixed pattern: Wednesdays and Fridays, 9:00am to 5:00pm.

Responsibilities

• Communicate available capacity across outpatients, theatres, endoscopy and ambulatory theatres to the Medical Society, consultants and their secretaries, helping to minimise downtime in these key areas.
• Building effective partnerships with consultants and medical secretaries, increasing consultant engagement while supporting theatre and outpatient utilisation targets.
• Providing a single point of contact for consultants and medical secretaries regarding theatre lists and the allocation of fixed and ad hoc sessions, with guidance and support from the Theatre Manager.
• Supporting the removal or reallocation of sessions where there is a risk of under-utilisation.
• Obtaining and analysing utilisation data and meeting regularly with consultants to discuss the utilisation of theatre sessions and outpatient clinics.
• Supporting consultants to improve utilisation and escalating routinely under-utilised sessions to the Senior Management Team where appropriate.
• Working closely with clinical departments, including outpatient nursing, wards, theatres, endoscopy and pre-assessment, to ensure the necessary resources are available to support scheduled cases.
• Identifying capacity-related challenges and working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to develop effective solutions.
