Job summary

Fortius Clinic is seeking a Clinical Operations Lead to coordinate Operating Theatre services, balancing hands-on clinical work with operational leadership in a fast-paced environment.

You will oversee theatre workflows, staffing, patient flow and governance, maintain clinical activity as scrub and SFA, and lead a high-performing perioperative team, ensuring safety, efficiency and exemplary patient care.

Qualifications

• Registered Practitioner with current NMC or HCPC registration.
• Minimum five years' post-registration operating theatre experience.
• Demonstrable experience coordinating day-to-day operating theatres.
• Experience of line management, including appraisals, performance management, sickness absence and staff development.
• Strong understanding of theatre workflow, patient flow and list management.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate theatre activity across the department, ensuring safe, efficient delivery.
• Lead on workforce planning, staffing and resource allocation.
• Maintain clinical practice, including scrub duties and Surgical First Assistant responsibilities.
• Lead governance, quality improvement, audits and incident investigations.
• Drive service improvement and portfolio leadership within Surgical Services.
