Job summary

Fortius, a private healthcare provider in Greater London, seeks a Senior Theatre Practitioner to deliver high-quality, safe perioperative care within Orthopaedic and Spinal theatres. You will lead on shift, mentor junior staff, support mandatory training, governance, and professional development.

Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will monitor equipment readiness, maintain documentation, participate in on-call duties, and drive infection prevention and patient safety across the service.

Qualifications

• Senior practitioner providing expert perioperative care and leadership on shift.
• Mentor, supervise and appraise junior staff and students.
• Ensure compliance with mandatory training, governance, and SOPs.
• Lead infection prevention and safe medicines handling.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality perioperative care within Orthopaedic and Spinal theatres.
• Scrub, circulate, or assist as required with competence.
• Maintain accurate contemporaneous documentation per hospital policy.
• Participate in the on-call rota and support emergency activity.
• Support MDT collaboration, staff wellbeing, and continuous service improvement.
• Ensure equipment readiness and contribute to safe operating lists.
