Job summary

Circle Health Group’s Woodlands Hospital in Darlington seeks an Instrument Coordinator (Bank) to support theatre operations on an as-and-when-required basis. You will oversee instrumentation preparation, liaise with decontamination, and ensure instruments are clean and delivered on time.

Qualifications

• Experience in a theatre environment or clinical support role.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise workload.
• Basic infection control, instrument handling and decontamination knowledge.
• Good communication and teamwork with a professional approach.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the preparation and availability of surgical instrumentation, liaising with internal decontamination services and external hospitals where required.
• Ensure all instruments are clean, functional, and delivered to the correct locations in a timely manner to meet daily theatre schedules.
• Assist in the ordering, rotation, and replenishment of theatre consumables, ensuring alignment with Circle Health Group’s preferred suppliers and procurement policies.
• Support the theatre team in delivering seamless surgical services, contributing to improved patient outcomes and satisfaction.
• Work closely with theatre practitioners, sterile services, procurement, and external providers to ensure clarity and continuity in equipment and stock availability.
• Ensure all instrumentation handling complies with hospital policies, infection prevention protocols, and regulatory guidelines.
