Job summary

Speedy Hire PLC in Aberdeen is seeking a Test and Run Technician to join our depot team. The role involves basic electrical and functionality testing, servicing and cleaning hire equipment to ensure safety and presentation for the next customer.

The successful candidate will contribute to our in-house training culture and ESG initiatives, supported by a structured development plan. Monday to Friday, 07:30–17:00, with a focus on reliability and quality across the Speedy group.

Qualifications

• Basic electrical skills (12/24V) and basic mechanical skills.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Previous experience in hire industry or engineering is desirable.
• Willingness to support ESG Strategy - Decade to Deliver.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic electrical and functionality testing on tools and equipment.
• Service and clean products returned from hire to ensure safety and presentability.
• Assist in depot operations and support the team to meet customer needs.

Working Hours - Monday to Friday - 07:30 - 17:00 - 42 hours per week

Salary £29,572 per annum pro rata

The role of a Test and Run Technician is a busy and productive role in the depot, performing basic electrical and functionality testing as well as servicing and cleaning products returned from hire to ensure they are safe and presentable, ready for the next customer to take away.

What you'll need:

• Basic electrical skills (12/24v)
• Basic mechanical skills and the ability to use tools effectively
• Strong communication skills both verbal and written
• Previous experience working within the hire industry or other engineering field is desirable
• Ability to support your business unit/team to deliver our ESG Strategy - Decade to Deliver.
