Job Description: Test Engineer at Dorset County Hospital

Digital change within the NHS is gathering pace, and a key pillar in delivering change at Dorset County Hospital is the Software Development team. The team works closely with clinicians and operational teams, leveraging their detailed domain knowledge to develop meaningful solutions that support the organisation's digital ambitions.

The team's work is broad and varied, requiring a pragmatic and flexible attitude in an ever-changing healthcare landscape. They support disciplines including clinical systems, business intelligence, operational systems, integration, support, infrastructure, and more. The post holder will engage in all areas of the team's work, continuously inspecting, adapting, and evolving.

The post holder will need to learn new skills, innovate, participate in projects of varying sizes, and contribute to the team's future direction and operations.

The Post Holder Will Be Expected To:

• Identify and log acceptance criteria and test cases
• Plan testing activities
• Write test scripts
• Evidence test outcomes
• Raise defects and support their resolution
• Curate test data and assist with configuration and testing environments
• Facilitate user acceptance testing
• Participate in design workshops
• Provide updates to project teams and senior staff, and partake in development reviews and demonstrations
• Support the ongoing operation of systems developed and maintained by the team
• Contribute to defining and refining the team’s standards, practices, and methodology
• Exhibit good agile behaviors and positively impact the team
