Sr. QA Analyst to create and execute automation tests for Data/ETL projects using TOSCA for a large insurance client

Duration: 6 Months (possibility for extension)

Location: Remote

ERC & RCMP Clearance required (this role is required to work on a restricted test data)

Applications Operations Services & Quality Engineering (AOSQE) is seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (Data/ETL Testing) with proven leadership in testing activities to join the Data Testing Chapter. The successful candidate will act as a Quality Advocate, ensuring the delivery of quality solutions through comprehensive testing.

Must haves:

• 5+ years of Quality Assurance experience with Data and ETL technologies.
• Experience with Test Automation Tools like TOSCA (Automation Specialist Level 1 & 2, Data Integrity Specialist) or similar.
• Proficiency in SQL (creating, maintaining, and editing queries).
• Strong knowledge of Python for test automation.
• FI/Insurance industry experience.

Nice to haves:

• University degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• Certification in TOSCA and TOSCA Data Integrity tools.
• Experience with Anti Money Laundering projects.
• Knowledge of data warehouse, enterprise data lake, and big data tools.
• Understanding of DevOps (Jenkins) and continuous testing concepts.

Job Responsibilities:

• Lead as a Sr. Quality Engineer in medium/large programs.
• Create and execute test automation scripts using TOSCA.
• Develop test strategies, plans, and manage end-to-end testing including UAT and BAT.
• Work within an agile environment; manage tickets via Jira as User Stories.
• Coordinate with QE team, Business Analysts, Developers, and Scrum Masters.
• Learn and utilize the in-house Data Testing Automation Framework.
• Work with AWS technologies (S3, Glue, Redshift) and Microsoft SQL Server.
• Participate in onboarding and knowledge transfer sessions.
• Manage and develop test activities aligning with Sun Life QE practices.
• Adopt an automation-first approach to testing.
• Communicate defects effectively and assist in prioritization.
• Manage defect tracking and reporting using qTest.
