Job summary

Tesco is hiring for a Shift Lead to oversee daily operations in-store. You will lead the team to deliver an exceptional customer experience, work across store areas, and act as the go-to person for day-to-day queries. You’ll build inclusive relationships and step in for the Manager when needed.

The role emphasizes coaching, clear communication, and flexibility to adapt to changing customer needs, store priorities and schedules. 18+ and retail experience preferred.

Tesco Shift Lead pay starts at £15.59 per hour, rising to £16.86 in stores within the M25. Some locations may offer additional payments. We guarantee a minimum of 16 hours per week, though roles from 12 hours are also available.

Your contracted hours will be scheduled within the availability windows shown, with at least 3 weeks' notice of your shifts. If your availability is close to what we're looking for, we still encourage you to apply.

You will need

To be over 18 for this role.

Experience working in a team lead or management position in a fast-paced retail environment. Â

Be a strong role model with a passion for delivering great service and ensuring every customer's needs are met.

A clear communicator, using a variety of methods to keep the team well informed.
