Job summary

GCS Associates are recruiting a Business Development Manager for the Northern England & Scotland region in the Roofing Insulation sector. You will drive new business, grow existing accounts, and promote advanced flat roof insulation solutions, while working with internal teams and external partners.

The role requires a proactive sales professional with specification or technical sales experience, a proven track record of meeting targets, and strong relationship-building skills.

Qualifications

• Experience in specification or technical sales within construction.
• Knowledge of flat roofing insulation and waterproofing systems.
• Proven track record of achieving sales targets in field-based role.
• Strong commercial awareness and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple projects.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Proactive, self-motivated and results-driven.
• Passion for delivering exceptional customer service and partnerships.

Responsibilities

• Deliver territory sales and margin targets.
• Maintain relationships with waterproofing manufacturers, building envelope specialists and roofing contractors.
• Identify, submit and track project opportunities from enquiry through to completion.
• Carry out site surveys for technical designs and quotations.
• Improve enquiry conversion through follow-up and relationship management.
• Build long-term partnerships with Tier 1, Tier 2 and Tier 3 contractors and customers.
• Manage and maintain a healthy project pipeline in collaboration with the Sales Support team.
• Update and manage customer information using the CRM system.
• Produce regular activity and market feedback reports.
• Attend sales meetings and contribute to business development initiatives.
• Represent our client professionally within the marketplace and identify opportunities for continued growth.
