As a Terminal Maintenance Supervisor, you will oversee and manage all aspects of maintenance at the Avonmouth Bitumen Terminal, ensuring compliance with QHSSE procedures and regulations. Reporting to the Terminal Manager, you will be responsible for terminal maintenance, utilizing the terminal maintenance system, executing planned preventative maintenance, carrying out repairs supported by site operators, and organizing third-party contractors.

The Colas Group owns and operates a network of bitumen terminals and a fleet of ships to ensure a secure supply of this strategic raw material. Continental Bitumen, a subsidiary of Colas, has invested in a state-of-the-art bitumen terminal and blending facility at Avonmouth, UK.

Main Responsibilities

The main responsibilities include operations management, inventory control, quality assurance, managing relationships with suppliers and customers, team leadership, and development. As Terminal Maintenance Supervisor, you will ensure the safe and efficient storage and supply of bitumen from Avonmouth to customers, promote safety, support bitumen loading into road tankers, adhere to the Permit to Work scheme, and foster good relations with all site personnel, including delivery drivers.

You will communicate effectively, mentor and train your team through inductions, toolbox talks, and briefings, and ensure compliance with relevant legislation and company policies, prioritizing safety.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will have experience in mechanical and electrical preventative maintenance related to pressure systems, pumps, and hydraulics, along with leadership skills. Although primarily working days, you may need to review night shift maintenance bi-monthly.

You must hold a full UK driving license, possess knowledge of health and safety, and be conscientious, trustworthy, open, and reliable.
