Job summary

Exolum is seeking a Terminal Controller at Eastham to ensure safe receipt, dispatch and transfer of client products, and to ensure compliance of drivers and staff with safety instructions.

Key duties include operating weighbridges, managing shipping lines, and supervising on-site safety. The role requires mechanical/electrical trades experience and willingness to travel for training.

Qualifications

• Ability to follow written procedures and respond calmly to alarms.
• Lone working at night and weekends in outdoor conditions (PPE provided).
• Good communication and basic computer skills (CSI system/Weighbridge).
• Trades experience (mechanical/electrical) with maths, English and science.
• Preferred trades qualification such as HNC or BTEC.
• Willingness to travel to other terminals for training.

Responsibilities

• Comply with all safety and environmental policies and procedures.
• Follow the On Site Emergency Plan requirements.
• Act as Traffic Controller during on- and off-site emergencies.
• Supervise receipt and dispatch of product to road vehicles.
• Ensure drivers comply with site safety rules on loading bays.
• Prepare shipping lines before operations.
• Operate the weighbridges as required.
• Assist the Senior Terminal Controller in duties.
• Carry out Planned Maintenance Inspections.
• Report damaged or worn equipment promptly.
• Site housekeeping and line clearance after shipping.
• Work to COMAH standards; conform to company policies.
• Champion safety and staff wellbeing.

Terminal Controller – Eastham- Permanent

About the role

We are looking for a new Terminal Controller at our Eastham site, ensuring the safe and efficient receipt, dispatch and transfer of client products. Ensuring compliance of drivers, contractors and other terminal staff with Exolum Terminals Eastham, Fire, Safety and Security instructions.

Key Responsibility

• Comply with all Exolum safety and environmental policies and procedures

• Being fully familiar with the requirements of the On Site Emergency Plan

• Acting as Traffic Controller during on and off site emergencies

• Supervising the receipt and dispatch of product to road vehicles

• Ensuring drivers comply with site safety rules on the loading bays

• Carrying out the preparation of shipping lines before shipping operations

• Operate the site weighbridges as required

• Assisting the Senior Terminal Controller in carrying out his duties

• Carrying out Planned Maintenance Inspections

• Reporting damaged or worn equipment promptly

• Site housekeeping

• Pigging and line clearance after shipping operations

• Work to standards, procedures that meet COMAH requirements

• Ensure all tasks carried out conform to company policies, procedures and systems.

• Comply with the Values and Fundamental Principles of the company

• Champion behavioural safety and staff health and wellbeing

About You

The successful candidate will have the ability to follow written procedures,responding correctly to alarm situations in a calm manner.Lone working at night and/or at weekends and bebased outside working in inclement weather conditions (PPE will be provided)

Have the ability to halt activities deemed to be unsafe withgood communication skills and

computer skills, e.g. CSI system/weighbridge.Preferable industry experience in aspects of fuel terminal processeswould be an advantage.Trades experience(mechanical/electrical)with agood level of school education in Maths, English and Science.

Preferable trades qualification e.g. HNC, BTEC mechanical or electricalwithprocess operating qualifications.

Be prepared to complete training courses, including the possibility to travel to other terminals for those courses

• Salary £42,000 raising to 46,000 after 3 months and then £50,276.40
