Job summary

Falkirk Council is recruiting a Support for Learning Assistant (Advanced) for Shieldhill Primary School. You will support class teachers and other staff to enhance experiences and achievement for learners, including those with additional support needs.

You will work 27.5 hours per week during term time, Monday to Friday 9am-3pm (with a half-hour lunch). The post is temporary until April 2027, and PVG scheme membership cost will be met for the successful candidate.

Qualifications

• Good communication skills are essential.
• Role involves supporting children with recognised additional support needs.
• Enjoy working as part of a team and be flexible in approach.

Responsibilities

• Provide support for class teachers, Enhanced Provision Teachers, and early years professionals.
• Support learners to enhance experiences and achievement.
• Assist with supervision, safety, care and wellbeing of children.
