Job summary

Marchant Recruitment is partnering with a highly regarded all-girls secondary school in Harrow to appoint a dedicated Science Technician. You will support Biology, Chemistry and Physics lessons, ensuring laboratories are well prepared, safe and resourced to enable high-quality teaching.

Working closely with staff, you will manage equipment, stock supplies, assist with demonstrations, carry out COSHH and health and safety checks, and help maintain a smooth daily running of the Science department.

Qualifications

• Experience as Science Technician or in a laboratory.
• Knowledge of health and safety and COSHH regulations.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Practical skills for equipment preparation and maintenance.
• Good communication and collaborative working style.

Responsibilities

• Prepare apparatus, chemicals and materials for practical Science lessons.
• Support delivery of experiments across Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure resources are stocked and organised.
• Carry out risk assessments and ensure health and safety compliance.
• Clean, store and maintain equipment and chemicals safely.
• Assist teachers with lesson preparation and demonstrations as required.
• Order resources and manage inventory effectively.
• Support day-to-day running of the Science department.
