Marchant Recruitment is assisting a high-achieving secondary school in Barnet to recruit a Science Technician to support Biology, Chemistry and Physics lessons from October. The role involves preparing practicals, organising equipment and ensuring laboratories are ready for lessons.

The position is full-time, Monday to Friday, with typical hours aligned to school times (8:30am–4:30pm weekdays, with possible variations).

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Science Technician or in a laboratory setting.
• Good practical knowledge of science and laboratory equipment.
• Understanding of safe chemical handling and laboratory procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and set up practicals, experiments and demonstrations.
• Organise equipment, chemicals and materials for lessons.
• Clean, maintain and check laboratory equipment.
• Keep stock levels up to date and assist with ordering.
• Support teachers during practical lessons where needed.
• Follow COSHH, health and safety and school procedures.
• Keep laboratories and preparation areas organised.
