Job summary

Marchant Recruitment is helping a well-established Outstanding Secondary School in Haringey to recruit a dedicated Science Technician to start in October 2026. You will support teachers in delivering safe, practical science lessons and keep laboratories, equipment and resources in top condition.

The role is full-time and permanent within a busy Science Department, offering professional development and varied daily tasks alongside teachers and students.

Qualifications

• Methodical, proactive and hands-on with an interest in science.
• Previous experience in a school science department or laboratory is beneficial.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail sought.
• Ability to manage several practical requirements across a busy school day.

Responsibilities

• Preparing practical equipment and materials for lessons
• Supporting Biology, Chemistry and Physics practicals
• Setting up experiments and demonstrations
• Preparing and safely handling chemicals and other resources
• Maintaining laboratory equipment and facilities
• Checking stock and arranging replenishment of consumables
• Keeping laboratories clean, organised and ready for teaching
• Following COSHH and wider school health and safety procedures
• Assisting teachers and students during practical activities
