Job summary

Aspens Services Ltd is seeking a Chef Manager in Wigston to take full operational and financial responsibility for the school's catering facility. You will lead the kitchen team, drive menu development, promote sales through monthly promotions, and ensure compliance with health and safety standards.

The role offers a Monday-to-Friday schedule during term-time with 30 hours per week across 38 weeks per year, paying between £13.75 and £14.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• Experience managing GP and controlling costs, with ability to hit sales targets.
• Proven line management experience with coaching and development.
• Knowledge of health and safety practices.
• On-the-job experience valued; OND/HND bonus.

Responsibilities

• Financial Control: Managing and improving all controllable costs, including stock, food and labour.
• Team Leadership: Lead, coach, train and inspire your kitchen team to deliver excellence every day.
• Culinary Innovation: Oversee menu development and drive sales through monthly promotions and events.
• Quality Assurance: Ensure all standards, systems and legislation are met through audits and proactive management.
