Job summary

Aspens Services is seeking an ambitious Chef Manager to take full operational and financial responsibility for a school catering facility in Walton-on-Thames. You will lead the kitchen team, manage GP, and drive quality and service to deliver standout dining experiences while safeguarding students’ welfare.

The role emphasises menu development, cost control, and compliance with health and safety. It is Monday–Friday during school term time, 37.5 hours weekly over 38 weeks, at £16.50 per hour.

Qualifications

• Strong GP management understanding and ability to drive profitability.
• Experience in line management and team leadership.
• Fresh ingredient focus delivering high-quality meals.
• Full UK Driving Licence required.

Responsibilities

• Financial Control: Managing and improving all controllable costs, including stock, food and labour.
• Team Leadership: Lead, coach, train and inspire your kitchen team to deliver excellence every day.
• Culinary Innovation: Oversee menu development and drive sales through promotions and events.
• Quality Assurance: Ensure standards, systems and legislation are met through audits and proactive management.
