Job summary

Aspens Services is seeking a Chef Manager to take full operational and financial responsibility for a school catering facility. You will lead a kitchen team, manage GP, costs and compliance, and drive consistent high-quality meals and service in line with our education sector standards.

The role is Monday to Friday, term-time only, typically 37.5 hours per week across 39 weeks per year, with a rate of £18 per hour. DBS disclosure will be required and supported by the company.

Qualifications

• Strong GP management experience.
• Experience in line management.
• Excellent knowledge of health and safety practices.
• Culinary excellence with fresh ingredients.

Responsibilities

• Financial Control: Managing and improving controllable costs, including stock, food and labour.
• Team Leadership: Lead, coach, train and inspire your kitchen team to deliver excellence every day.
• Culinary Innovation: Oversee menu development and drive sales through monthly promotions and added-value events.
• Quality Assurance: Ensure standards, systems and legislation are met through audits and proactive management.
