Job summary

The Crypt Grammar School in Gloucester is seeking a Chef Manager for a 12-month maternity cover. You will prepare and present nutritionally balanced meals to Caterlink and client standards, while ensuring health, safety and environmental compliance.

This role is term-time only, with work Monday to Friday, no weekends, and a flexible schedule aligned to school terms. You will lead kitchen operations, manage inventories and budgets, and act as the primary client contact in the school, driving

Responsibilities

• To prepare, cook and present food to Caterlink and client standards.
• Ensure location meets Health and Safety, Food Safety, and environmental requirements.
• Maintain Caterlink's reputation for excellent food and service with clients and customers.
• Manage day-to-day running of the location and supervise teams, inventories, budgets, and action plans.
• Be the main client contact at the school, implementing regular adjustments and improvements.
• Monitor KPIs and financial targets with your line manager to ensure targets are met.
• Lead and train teams, ensure training completion and performance management.
