Job summary

Aspens Services Ltd in Cheshunt is seeking a Catering Assistant to join our school kitchen team. You’ll help with basic food preparation and provide friendly service during lunchtimes, Monday to Friday, term-time.

Typically 20 hours per week across 38 weeks per year, at £12.71 per hour. Full training is provided. We value teamwork, safety, and a positive attitude in a fast-paced education catering environment.

Qualifications

• Team player in a busy school catering environment.
• Experience in catering or fast-paced service.
• Basic health and safety knowledge; training provided if needed.
• Food Hygiene Level 2 is advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Customer interaction at tills during service with full training provided.
• Front-line service to students and staff with friendly, polite assistance.
• Assist team with basic food preparation.
• Maintain a safe, clean kitchen environment and Health & Safety compliance.
