Job summary

Bridgend County Borough Council is seeking a General Kitchen Assistant to join our Catering Services for term-time school meals across the county. You will help prepare, present and serve meals while keeping a safe, clean environment for pupils and staff.

Some schools may require you to lay out dining tables and chairs or operate a touch screen terminal; full training will be provided. Working hours are between 10:00 and 14:30, Monday to Friday, during term time.

Qualifications

• Level Two Food Hygiene Certificate required.
• DBS check enhanced when applied; training provided if needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation, presentation and service of school meals.
• Lay out dining tables and chairs in some schools.
• Operate a touch screen terminal in some duties (training provided).
• Maintain a safe, clean environment for pupils and staff.
