Job summary

Caterlink is hiring a Chef Manager at Peter Gladwin Primary School in Brighton. This term-time only role is Monday–Friday, 8.30am–2pm, offering 27.5 hours per week with no weekends.

You will prepare, cook and present nutritionally balanced meals, ensure Health and Safety, Food Safety, and environmental compliance, and lead the location's day-to-day operations while supervising staff and managing budgets. DBS check will be completed.

Qualifications

• Supervising on-site catering teams and ensuring service standards.
• Adhering to Health & Safety, Food Safety and environmental legislation.
• Managing inventories and monitoring budgets to meet targets.

Responsibilities

• To prepare, cook and present food to Caterlink and client standards.
• Ensure location meets statutory and company Health & Safety and Food Safety requirements.
• Uphold Caterlink's reputation for quality food and service with clients and customers.
• Oversee day-to-day running of the location, supervise teams, manage inventories and budgets.
• Act as main client contact at school, implementing improvements.
• Regularly communicate with line manager to monitor KPIs and financial targets.
• Train and support teams, lead from the front, ensure training completion and performance.
