Job summary

Caterlink-Ltd is seeking a Chef Manager for a Reading primary school. The role is term-time only, 25 hours per week, Monday to Friday, £13.50 per hour, with DBS checks and safeguarding commitments. You will oversee kitchen operations, ensure high-quality meals, and manage budgets and staff to meet client expectations.

The position emphasizes nutrition, safety, training, and client liaison, with continuous improvements to service and food quality.

Qualifications

• Experience preparing nutritious meals for school pupils.
• Ability to supervise teams and inventories.
• Knowledge of health and safety and food safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and present meals to Caterlink and client standards.
• Ensure location meets statutory and company Health & Safety, Food Safety requirements.
• Lead day-to-day running, manage inventories, budgets and action plans.
• Be client-facing at the school and implement improvements.
• Monitor KPIs and financial targets with line manager.
• Train and lead teams to ensure high performance.
