Job summary

Caterlink is hiring a Chef Manager for Christ the King Primary School in Reading. The role is term-time only, Monday to Friday, 25–30 hours per week, with a pay rate of £13.50 per hour.

You will prepare, cook and present meals to standards, ensure health and safety compliance, and drive continuous improvements in food quality and service at the school site. 38.6 weeks per year, including inset days for cleaning.

Qualifications

• Prepare, cook and present food to Caterlink and client standards.
• Comply with Health & Safety, Food Safety and environmental regulations.
• Maintain Caterlink’s reputation for high food quality and service.
• Oversee day-to-day location operations, inventories and budgets.
• Act as main client contact at the school and drive improvements.
• Monitor KPIs and financial targets with your line manager.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and present meals to required standards.
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, Food Safety and environmental policies.
• Maintain high food quality and service for the client and pupils.
• Manage day-to-day running of the site, including inventories and budgets.
• Be the main school contact and implement agreed improvements.
• Train and develop the team; monitor performance and training.
