Job summary

Wrexham County Borough Council is seeking a Cook in Charge at Ysgol Sant Dunawd, Bangor on Dee for 22.5 hours per week during term time.

You will manage school meals within budget, supervise staff, oversee food service and portion control, ensure healthy cooking practices, and operate the school meals system. An Enhanced DBS is required.

The role offers a chance to develop the service and contribute to our bilingual workforce and service standards.

Qualifications

• Qualified cook required.
• Experience in supervising staff preferable.
• Understanding of healthy cooking practices and food safety.

Responsibilities

• Manage the school meals service within targets for labour and food costs.
• Carry out skilled cooking duties with emphasis on healthy cooking practices.
• Supervise other employees, allocate duties, create rotas and provide training.
• Oversee food service, portion control and presentation.
• Perform associated clerical duties and operate the school meals administration system.
• Ensure compliance with Health and Safety legislation.
• Promote the service to customers.
