Job summary

Caterlink Ltd is seeking a Relief Chef in Bradford to prepare, cook and present high-quality meals for our client in a school setting. The role is term-time only, 38 weeks per year, with a 30-hour working week at £14 per hour.

You will manage day-to-day kitchen operations, supervise teams, monitor budgets and ensure compliance with Food Safety and health standards, acting as the main client contact and driving improvements.

Qualifications

• Good general education and numeracy skills
• Good organisational skills
• Good interpersonal skills including clear concise communication
• Cooking experience of fresh foods
• Experience of Food Safety Management/HACCP systems operation
• Previous Large Catering experience

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and present food to Caterlink standards and client expectations
• Ensure site meets Health and Safety, Food Safety and environmental legislations
• Maintain Caterlink's reputation for excellent food and service and exceed client expectations
• Manage day-to-day kitchen operations, supervise teams, inventories, budgets and action plans
• Be the main client contact in school, implement regular adjustments and improvements
• Monitor KPIs and financial targets with line manager to ensure targets are met
• Train and support teams, ensure training completion and performance management
• Carry out on-site catering activities under supervision of Head Chef / Catering Operations Manager
• Ensure all food produced on time to required quality standards and costs kept within limits
• Organise ordering of raw materials, packaging and cleaning chemicals and ensure traceability and quality records
