Job summary

Caterlink is hiring a Relief Chef in Manchester for a term-time only role, 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday, at £14 per hour with no weekends. The post requires flexibility for travel to multiple locations and a DBS clearance is expected in some sites.

You will oversee food service, safety compliance, budgets, and KPIs while leading a team and maintaining high food standards. Ideal candidates will have City & Guilds/NVQ Level qualifications, Food Safety Level 2, and a UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• Formal catering qualifications or equivalent (City & Guilds, NVQ or Commis Chef Level 2).
• Full UK driving licence with up to 6 points and 12 months driving experience.
• Banksman training and First aid Level 2 Food Safety qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and present food to Caterlink and client standards.
• Ensure location meets Health and Safety, Food Safety and environmental legislations and procedures.
• Maintain Caterlink's reputation for excellent food and service with client and customers.
• Lead day-to-day running of the location; supervise teams, manage inventories and budgets.
• Be main client contact in school; implement regular adjustments and improvements.
• Communicate with line manager to monitor KPIs and financial targets.
• Support and train teams; ensure training completed and performance managed.
