Job summary

Greenacre School in Barnsley is seeking a dedicated Pastoral Welfare Leader to support pupils and families across our site and community. You will help regulate behaviour, promote welfare and attendance, and refer to specialist services as needed.

Qualifications

Experience in a pastoral, welfare or safeguarding leadership role, ideally in SEND/SEMH or alternative provision.
Strong understanding of SEN challenges and effective support strategies.
Excellent communicator with ability to build relationships with students, staff and families.
Solid knowledge of safeguarding legislation and best practice.
Resilient, calm, empathetic and able to manage stressful situations.
GCSE Maths and English are required.
NVQ L3 or working towards as an ongoing commitment.
Driver with access to a vehicle.

Responsibilities

Work flexibly across the school and community to support pupils and families.
Develop and deliver preventative and early intervention strategies to improve welfare, behaviour and attendance.
Refer to specialist services and agencies as needed and support referrals.
Line-manage and support other staff; access leadership development if new to leadership.
