Job summary

Langdale Primary School is seeking a Lunchtime Supervisor in Newcastle-under-Lyme to support pupils during the school lunch break. The role is 5 hours per week (12:00-13:00), term-time only and permanent, graded at SP 3. You will work under senior staff to ensure pupils are safe, supervised and engaged during lunch, supporting dining room routines and playground activities.

The position includes safeguarding responsibilities and a DBS/disclosure check will be part of the recruitment process.

Qualifications

• To work under the direction and instruction of senior staff to provide the care of the children during the school lunch break.
• Be aware of safeguarding, health, safety and data protection policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Escort children to and from the dining room when dining away from the school.
• Supervise pupils before, during and after the meal, including clearing leftover food from plates.
• Oversee that debris from packed lunches is removed and dining room is kept clean.
• Assist with table manners and use of cutlery; help with cutting meat for younger children.
• Patrol the playground and organise games and activities.
• Set up and clear away dining room equipment and monitor spillages for safety.
