Job summary

Ropery Walk Primary School in Seaham, England is seeking a Lunchtime Supervisory Assistant to join the mid-day team during term time. The role runs 11.45am–1pm, 6.25 hours per week, starting 2 November 2026, with retainer adjustments during school closures.

Qualifications

• Ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential.

Responsibilities

• Supervise meals and encourage children to use cutlery properly.
• Supervise washing of hands of pupils.
• Manage entry/exit into/from the dining hall by pupils.
• Clear up spillages during mealtime promptly.
• Assist in wiping tables and chairs at the end of meals.
• Initiate games and activities while maintaining supervision.
• Supervise children in classrooms during inclement weather.
• Perform basic first aid for minor incidents and keep incident records.
• Follow the school's behaviour policy and report misbehaviour.
