Job summary

St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School, Jarrow, invites applications for a permanent Lunchtime Supervisory Assistant. The role covers safeguarding, safety and conduct during lunch, supervising dining hall and yard, and engaging pupils in activities.

Hours are 7.5 per week, term-time only (including 5 inset days). DBS check and pre-employment checks are mandatory; interviews scheduled 23 October 2026.

Qualifications

• Satisfactory Enhanced DBS check required.
• Experience in supervising pupils during lunchtimes preferred.
• Ability to maintain safeguarding and pupil conduct.

Responsibilities

• Supervise pupils in dining hall and outdoor yard.
• Ensure safeguarding and safe conduct at lunchtime.
• Engage children with structured activities.
